Fishing for Fishies

FISHING FOR FISHIES is a TTRPG designed for 3-5 players and is inspired by the album of the same name by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. 

The life of a fish is a perilous thing. Threats come in many forms. From natural predators like birds or man made ones like plastic or a rod. You and your closest fish friends aim to survive as long as you can while avoiding being snatched up or made sick and from contaminants while still eating enough, oh so tasty, bugs to survive and grow bigger. 

One player plays the FISHER MAN, or game master. They roll to determine what threats a player encounters and adjudicate the rules, using their discretion when necessary to determine the outcome of uncertain events. 

All other players play the FISHIES. They must eat each round and are working to be the biggest fish in the pond. Successfully eating bugs will help you grow, eating Plastic or hooks will help you die. 

Though the fish aim to be the best they also compete against the FISHER MAN. If they survive six rounds the FISHER MAN gets frustrated with his lack of catches and the FISHIES live another day. However, if all the FISHIES get caught or die in some other way the FISHER MAN goes home happy with a sack full of FISHIES.
